[edit] Information

Reporter Giles Duley and director Leslie Knott visit a remarkable clinic for victims of acid attacks in Bangladesh, where many of the staff are survivors of attacks themselves. In a story of courage and hope, they follow one young victim rebuilding her life, and the inspirational team helping her. Bangladesh has the highest rate of acid attacks in the world, and most of them are on young women. On average there's an acid attack every week in Bangladesh. As the country develops and more and more women work and enjoy the liberation that comes with earning money, it seems that some men can't cope with the change in society. They hurl acid in the faces of women for alleged improprieties or for not doing what the men want them to.
