Reporter Marcel Theroux and director Nick Sturdee visit the disputed territory of Crimea for the first anniversary of its annexation by Russia. They meet Crimean Russians who are delighted to have become part of Russia, but also meet Tatar families who've lived through repression under Stalin, and fear what Russian rule may bring today. They follow a young Tatar woman who's entered the Miss Crimea beauty pageant and hopes to become its first ever Crimean Tatar winner.
